Cross-reference lists and task lists

Project tasks and important standards bodies always in view

What are Safexpert cross-reference lists?

Cross-reference lists contain a listing of important standard sections that may be useful to you when developing safety engineering solutions to reduce the risk of a specific hazard.

Cross-reference lists sometimes also contain a collection of tasks of different types extracted from the standard:

  • Organisational tasks
  • Tasks to be completed in connection with the risk assessment
  • General project tasks

These tasks must partly be done at the beginning of the project, as they cannot be made up once the machine has already been built or even delivered. Proof that these tasks have not been carried out or have been carried out late can lead to consequences under product liability law.

Cross-reference lists are additional products to the Safexpert risk assessment module.

Your benefit

  • You can quickly find relevant standard bodies that may be useful to you in the development of a particular hazard.
  • When you adopt a cross-reference list into your project, you optionally also adopt the tasks from the task list. This helps you keep track of important tasks that need to be done at the beginning of the project and cannot be caught up on later.
  • In Ihrem persönlichen Dashboard überblicken Sie, welche Aufgaben Sie noch nicht erledigt haben.
  • When standards change, you or SECOM experts develop appropriate cross-reference and task lists.
  • Digital analyses inform you when:
    • cross-reference lists in your current projects are no longer up to date.
    • dthe basic standard for a task is no longer up to date.

How it works:

Cross-reference lists

  • Click on a hazard in the Safexpert risk assessment module in the hazard list.
  • The "Cross-references" window then displays all cross-references that the editors have assigned to the hazard in the respective cross-reference list.
  • Double-clicking on a cross-reference opens the document at the appropriate place in the Safexpert PDF viewer, provided you have the licence rights for the document. This way you can find important information in seconds and save yourself tedious searching and scrolling.
  • Cross-reference lists to a C standard offer a particularly high benefit. They contain cross-references to the normative requirements for a very specific product type. Cross-reference lists to a specific product standard are usually included in Safexpert template projects
  • and cannot be ordered on their own.

Task lists

  • If you include a standard as an "applied standard" in your project and a cross-reference list for it is included in your company favourites, you can decide whether you want to take over the cross-reference list and the task list into your project.
  • You will receive information that the tasks have not yet been assigned to a person. You can carry out the assignment immediately or at a later time.
  • The tasks are assigned to the corresponding area according to the task type. In the Safexpert Project Manager you get an overview of all three areas.
  • A deadline can be defined for the individual tasks.
  • Each task can be marked as "Completed".
  • In your personal dashboard you can always see which tasks are still open.
