Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The monthly subscription has a minimum term of 3 months, whilst the annual subscription has a minimum term of 12 months. Customers typically use one or more annual subscriptions as their base licence to benefit from the discounted prices, and supplement this as required (e.g. for specific project phases) with the necessary number of monthly licences.

The Starter package is aimed in particular at companies that require a solution for creating risk assessments that comply with standards.

With the Pro package, you can create risk assessments even more efficiently, thanks to features such as interfaces to control engineering calculation tools, the ability to search for standards relevant to your needs, and automated monitoring of the validity of ongoing projects and those used as templates. This is carried out using the standards that apply to your products, e.g. those harmonised under the Machinery Directive/Machinery Regulation or those harmonised under the Low Voltage Directive. With the “Pro” package, you not only create your risk assessments but are also guided through the entire conformity assessment process (for either machinery or electrical equipment) – from classification to the Declaration of Conformity.

The Enterprise package is aimed in particular at larger companies or those requiring an extended range of functions. The Enterprise package enables you to regulate access for individuals, departments and sites, as well as to manage multiple sites. Also included in the Enterprise package is the ability to search for and monitor the validity of standards harmonised with other regulations, e.g.: EMC, ATEX, pressure equipment, radio equipment, CRA, RoHS.

Our product pages provide the quickest and most concise overview:

  • Safexpert overview page (particularly the CE process)
  • Risk assessment overview page with Safexpert

There you will also find short videos on the respective features.

For the best possible overview, we recommend attending our free, no-obligation online presentation, where you can see live how Safexpert supports you and ask questions directly.

Alternatively, you can try out Safexpert for yourself with the 60-day demo version. Tip: Content entered in the demo version can still be used after activation!

A seat is a full-featured licence for Safexpert.

Every person who actively works in Safexpert – for example, by creating or editing projects, documenting risk assessments, researching standards or generating reports – requires their own seat.

Each seat also includes three read-only accesses. These are suitable for people who simply wish to view projects without actively working in Safexpert themselves.

Yes. Three read accesses are included per seat. However, at least one active seat is required to use the system.

Safexpert currently supports the conformity assessment procedure in accordance with the Machinery Directive/Machinery Regulation and the Low Voltage Directive. By making your selection, you specify which conformity assessment procedure you wish to licence. In the ‘Additional Features’ (Power-Ups) section, you can add the other procedure, even for a smaller number of user licences.

Power-Ups are additional features or content that allow you to tailor your Safexpert subscription to your specific needs.

This means you only pay for the add-ons you actually need – for example, the additional step-by-step wizard for CE marking in accordance with the Low Voltage Directive, advanced standards searches, access to the full text of standards, or the CheckManager testing software.

Power-Ups can be added to your chosen package as and when required. This keeps your subscription flexible and allows you to tailor it to suit your products, processes and projects.

As standards are copyright-protected documents, a one-off purchase is required in order to use them. The monthly fee covers ongoing updates to the standards as well as the rights of use corresponding to the number of user licences. The one-off purchase price is independent of the number of user licences.

Yes. As a Safexpert customer, you can also order individual standards; these are conveniently made available directly within your Safexpert account via the web service. Here is a list of the most frequently requested individual standards.

Yes. This is particularly useful when, during certain project phases, more people need access, even though read-only access would otherwise be sufficient for them.

Invoicing is carried out in advance on an annual basis. This applies regardless of the chosen tariff. In the case of a monthly tariff, a corresponding refund will be issued once the minimum contract period (3 months) or the notice period (1 month) has expired. Where required (start-ups, etc.), monthly tariffs can also be invoiced at shorter intervals (e.g. half-yearly). Please do get in touch if you would like this.

You can cancel your subscription very easily by emailing our sales team: sales@ibf-solutions.com

For monthly plans, there is a minimum contract period of 3 months from the invoice date; for annual plans, this is 12 months. In both cases, the notice period up to the relevant cut-off date is one month.

Any refunds for rental fees already paid will be processed within 10 working days.

Gladly our product specialists support you in choosing the right software solutions or seminars. Due to the very close and cross-location cooperation, we strive for short response times for optimal customer benefit.
