Get a head start in the preparation of risk assessments and CE documentation!
With the Safexpert CE software, you receive valuable templates, checklists and templates free of charge, allowing you to concentrate even more on the activities that really require your attention.
In addition to the free templates, you can also purchase additional data products. This means you only pay for what you actually use.
Several free templates support you in carrying out the risk assessment in a legally compliant and efficient manner.
Have you considered all hazards in the risk assessment? Due to the large number of hazards and hazard events, it is advisable to carry out the risk assessment on the basis of a standardised hazards list.
Safexpert supports users with a hazards list based on EN ISO 12100, which means that designers are less stressed about forgetting important points and the risk assessment is performed more quickly.
Particularly valuable: hazards are provided with so-called "Global Safexpert Identifiers" in Safexpert. This allows us to offer conversion routines in the event of changes to standards that convert existing risk assessments within seconds - activities that would take hours or days to perform manually!

The standard for risk assessment, EN ISO 12100, requires that when building machines"all the phases of its life cycle" are taken into account. As with hazards, it is advisable not to start from scratch, but to start on the basis of a standardised, predefined template.
Safexpert therefore comes with the list of phases of the machinery life from EN ISO 12100 as standard. Of course, you can customise this list to suit the needs of your company.
Standards can significantly increase the efficiency of design and risk assessment. However, this is only possible if information can be found and accessed by design engineers as quickly as possible.
Safexpert uses so-called "cross-reference lists" to enable access to relevant information during the design and especially during the risk assessment. These are standard references that are displayed in a sidebar for the risk assessment.
To avoid a flood of information, however, only the information that fits the respective work context is displayed, e.g. the standard on electrical safety (EN 60204-1) is displayed when hazards are processed in connection with electrical hazards.
This allocation saves design engineers valuable time and helps them to make better safety-related decisions.
Safexpert supports you with an individually expandable database of standardised pictograms. This allows you to select the appropriate pictograms during the risk assessment, e.g. to draw users' attention to residual risks or necessary protective equipment.
You can use corresponding reports to create checklists that you or your colleagues can use to check whether all pictograms have actually been placed in the correct position.

Do not start the operating instructions from scratch! The operating instructions template supplied (based on the important basic standard for instructions, EN IEC/IEEE 82079-1) provides you with a predefined structure and important general information.
The template unfolds its full potential in conjunction with the Instructions-Assistant. This allows you to immediately assign information on residual risks that you identify in the risk assessment to the correct chapters and thus create operating instructions more quickly.
If you are already using editing systems, a convenient report will help you to see which information should not be missing in the operating instructions. If you use Schema ST4 - Safexpert supports you with an interface to the editing system.

To guide you step by step through the CE process, we have developed the CE Guides in accordance with the Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), Machinery Regulation (2023/1230) and Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU).
These software modules map the respective regulatory process. Part of the process is also the creation of various documents. Safexpert also supports you here with templates for the respective regulations.
The technical files serve as proof that the delivered product complies with the legal requirements. In the event of a justified request, these must be handed over to the market surveillance authorities or are important evidence in legal proceedings.
Safexpert's "Checklists of technical files" help you not to forget any important points and to collect all relevant information centrally in one place so that you can find it quickly if necessary.
Of course, you can also create your own checklists and customise them to your needs. For example, if additional documents are required on the basis of product-specific standards relevant to you or due to contracts with customers, you can customise the system and still achieve standardisation in your processes!

With Safexpert 9.1, we have expanded the cross-referencing system. So-called requirement lists are now available in the CE Guide in accordance with the Machinery Regulation. These offer all the above-mentioned advantages of the cross-reference lists (normative assistance on the spot) and also enable individual requirements to be processed at project level.
This means that you now have the option of mapping any documents in requirements lists in order to document centrally in the project which requirements (e.g. from standards, laws or contracts) you have fulfilled.
Tip: You can convert existing cross-reference lists (which you may have created yourself) into request lists with just one click, allowing you to continue working seamlessly with the extended functions.
Included in packages: the list of requirements according to Annex III of the new EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 is included in: Safexpert Basic, Compact, Professional - to the package overview
Data is required for various tasks in the product development process. To optimise the workflows within these processes, Safexpert offers various data products that provide support in different work steps, e.g. during design or in standards research.
By dividing Safexpert into different products and packages, you only pay for what you actually need:
Collection of PDF full texts of particularly frequently required standards for more efficiency in everyday design work.
Basis for your standards research and topicality monitoring based on bibliographical data.
The turbo for changes to standards: Automatically replace predecessor sections (!) with successor sections.
Valuable additional knowledge on standards or laws directly as a note in the respective section of the document.
With standards packages, all Safexpert users have central access to the full texts of harmonised European standards. These standards packages are offered in two different scopes. The Machine Safety standards package contains the A and B standards that are particularly important for machinery, plant and control engineering. The Machine Safety Plus standards package, with its many additional B standards, is the perfect complement to the Machinery Safety package. They are available in German and English. Please contact us for other language versions.
Seven particularly important A and B standards for machine, system and control engineering.
Comprehensive collection of the most important safety-related standards from mechanical, plant and control engineering
Product-specific standards directly available and ready to hand in Safexpert: in cooperation with our partner Austrian Standards, we can provide you with European standards (ENs) as a national implementation in ÖNORM format in Safexpert. Contact us here for your standards enquiry!
The Safexpert data packages contain the bibliographical data of the standards, such as standard number, issue date, predecessor and successor document, withdrawal date, date of cessation of presumption of conformity, etc. You use this data to search for standards. Safexpert also uses this data as a reference for extensive update checks and analysis functions in your project documentation!

Document structures contain a structured list of all sections of a standard or other document.
IBF maintains the structure as well as the predecessor-successor relationship of sections (!) for a large number of relevant documents.
This has several advantages for Safexpert users:
Available document structures:
With the Safexpert Knowledge Base, we have created a system that displays important and relevant additional information on standards, directives, regulations, etc. directly in the relevant section. Examples of important information are
We can display this information, which often only affects very specific sections, to Safexpert users at the precise point where the information is needed.
The knowledge base is currently under construction. Currently, all Safexpert users from the Compact package onwards benefit from the new features and content.
In the area of industrial product compliance, it is often necessary to carry out tests and approvals (e.g. with regard to electrical safety).
Other examples include the purchase of parts, incomplete machines or devices or the acceptance of finished products, e.g. during internal final inspections as part of QM processes.
Checkpoint libraries form the data basis for the CheckManager module. Standardised checklists allow you to standardise your inspection processes and thus increase inspection quality.
You have the choice between two variants:
The ability to maintain predecessor-successor relationships allows you to keep track of changes to test requirements (e.g. due to changed requirements in agile projects, changed standard or regulatory requirements, etc.) and saves you tedious manual activities.
You can see which checkpoint libraries are available in our price list.
Tip: If a library relevant to you is not available - but you would still like to outsource the creation - feel free to contact us! We will check the creation of a library for you by an expert from our network.
